The entire novel reads as one garbled text message, which is entirely inappropriate for the premise of the story. The focus completely leaves the main character 'foster fox'. Every animal is named and in a clunky way so you just have a list of names with no character behind them. There are tons of editing errors like missing quotations on lines of speech. You never know whats going on, there is no character development, no elaboration. I'm all for a story that takes place in the north woods, but reading this book is like watching some sort of grand adventure on fast forward.
